Fresh Water Fish Tank Light Question?

I have a 10 gallon tank with NO live plants. Only a Goldfish. I am having some Algae bloom trouble and I was wondering if certain types of tank lighting is better? Do some lights promote Algae? I am not sure what type of light I have in the tank hood but it’s probably a pretty cheap one considering it game with a starter kit. Please respond.

I do have a filter, an Aquaclear 50 to be exact. The Algae is not something tangible that an Algae Eater Fish could it, it’s more like an Algae bloom, green water.

algae is a part of most freshwater fish tanks. you can try adding a little algae eater and remove the tank from direct sunlight. Also dont leave the light on 24/7 it promotes algae growth. If all that fails try a few drops of “Algae Destroyer Advance” get it at pet sore or Walmart it fish section
