How much kwh are my fish tanks using per day and how much $?

lets say all my fish tanks together is running 600 watts
which is the average figuring that the heaters most likely do not run for more than 1 hr per day
how much kwh per day is that?
about how much will it cost per day?

this doesnt include the hood lights
so that would be more watts, lets say running the lights for 5 tanks for 9 hours

there is no way your using that much power even with lights unless your running metal halides etc….

filters rarely use more than 15w
heaters you were right are on in short bursts
lights are the biggest drag by far but still fluorescent lightning is really efficient..

but lets say you are running 600 watts…

i’d say it would cost you about 12 bucks a month tops…

its so cheap because your running low amps….

picture electricity as tiny bits called volts running threw a tube. The size of the tube needed to fulfill a constant demand for volts is called amps. so 600 watts at low amps is nothing…

Thats why your fridge is such a pig on electricity because it runs high amps…
