A Visit To Ukraine

But be attentive to find a serious company, and do not make a prepayment if you are not confident, Internet is a place where you can be easily deceived.
Ukrainian currency is grivnya. It’s easy to exchange euros or dollars in Ukrainian banks and currency exchange. You can also use your credit card to get money from an ATM machine. But take into account that there can be limit for a sum of money to be got out for one time and bank commission for the operation. Sadly there are not many places where you can pay by card, usually they are supermarkets, some pharmacies and restaurants. But it is better to find out beforehand if the place you are going to accepts cards.
You won’t have food difficulties in Ukraine. There are a lot of restaurants ans coffees with any kind of cuisine. We reccommend you to taste Ukrainian cuisine. The most well-known dishes of which are borsh, vareniki, okroshka, kvas. If you prefer to cook for yourself you should to go to a supermarket where you will get everything needed.
Ukraine is not a “criminal” country and it is safe to walk in the streets. Surely there are some places that can be insecure to walk at night, but they are usually in the suburbs and you will hardly go there.
There are many places to go out in the evening in large cities in Ukraine – night clubs that play all kinds of music, bowling and billiard, casino. You can go to aqua park, sauna or banya (you can try Russian banya which is different from sauna). If you like to rest actively there are many sport activities as horse back riding, skating, carting, golf, tennis, badminton, skiing in winter.
As for local transport system there are buses, trolley buses, trams, big Ukrainian cities have an underground. The cots isn’t high. If you do not like local transport you can rent a car.
Here is one more detail you should remember when going to Ukraine. People there speak Ukrainian or Russian. The most of people understand English, but don’t be surprised if you are not understood. So it is it’s better to take a interpreter or learn some widely used phrases in Russian, as dobriy den` (good afternoon), privet (hello), do svidania (good bye), spasibo (thank you), mne nuzhna pomosch (I need help).
