55 gallon marine tank stocking questions?

I currently have a 55 gallon marine tank with 4 damsels, 2 false perculas, 1 lawnmower blenny and 1 mandarin dragonette. We would like to add a xenia colony and leather toadstool. Also our larger clown (not that much larger only about 1/4 inch) just started harassing the other (we have had them for 2 weeks) They were all chummy before but now the one chases the other not all the time but several times a day for 10 minutes or so. Would it cut down on aggression if we get a few more since they like to be in groups? We are going to add more live rock also. We do not want to add anemones because the tank is too small for that. That is why we are adding the corals as hoping they will take to them instead! thanks
Yes my mandarin is doing well. We have about 25 lbs of live rock right now and live sand and we added copepods as well so he will have lots to munch on. HE hops all over the place nibbling away. I think we have adequate lighting its seems so.

When false percula clowns are added at the same time they usually get along. The most dominant of them will become female and the others remain male. If you do add more false perculas you want to add the smallest ones you can so they are more likely to be male. If the larger clown is just coming over to the smaller and shimmying at it; that is normal and nothing to worry about. They are simply working out their positions. Ocellaris clowns in the wild normally live in groups of 4 or 5. The idea that they will kill off until the last two is incorrect. They will at times decide to kill one of the other clowns but I believe it is because they are female. Only one female can be in the aquarium. The males will form a pecking order and stay small. If the female were to die the biggest male become female and each male moves up in rank. Other clown fish, especially wild caught fish can be more problematic.

If your whole setup is new and you have a mandarin you need to find and buy some copepods for it to eat and a lot of live rock for them to live in (or a refugium.) Mandarins seldom will eat prepared foods, if yours does you are very lucky. Normally a mandarin in a new tank will starve to death slowly over about a six month period. Please get your mandarin some copepods.
