Coral Reef Tank Growth

how much kelvin light does a Reef Tank need?
is it possible to keep coral alive with almost no kelvin light. just really strong metal halides? would like to know for corals and anemones, thanks.
i set up a 30gal to try it for my self but I would like to know if anyone has any previous experience on what I am about to do. my main fear is the algae growth.
list of what I have as far as lights-
- two 150watt metal halide lights, they give a yellow look (no kelvin light)
- one 20watt true blue light
Halide Lights are the best to use for a Reef Tank, they usually from 175 watts to 1000 watts with K rating between 5,000 to 20,000. Also they produce alot of heat and require fan cooling. But they are required for Anemons and Corals because they require higher intensity lighting. I would get a stronger bulb but you should get something that ranges close to 9000 K good medium point. Make sure that you pick up a light meter also….
