UV water filters are also possible. The Ultra Violet Radiation system uses high frequency light for irradiating water through a glass element. When the water passes the element, it is exposed to the light, killing all living organisms.
Although it is effective in sterilizing water, UV water filters requires laboratory analysis for the water output to ensure that the water is indeed safe to drink, making it not very convenient for home water filter system. Ceramic water filtration is another methodology used.
Generally, ceramic filters make a good home filter water system. It comes as a cartridge that fits a bench top filter. On its core is a fossil substance called diatomaceous earth. It is made up of tiny silicon shells left by trillions of diatoms, one-celled algae that inhabited the waters of the earth more than 150 million years ago.
