How to glue back to corner of a fish tank?
i recently moved my 15 inch clown knife from his regular 100 gallon tank to a 150, i put some feeder fish and he got aggressive and started bumping into one of the sides really hard.
Anyways i left it unchecked and it started leaking i wanted to move the tank out of the way after i cleared the water and pulled it and the glass came off and separated from the other glass so now theirs a huge gap.
anyways what is the best material to glue back to corner together like new?
You can use marine silicon, available from all pet shops. Don’t use ordinary silicon as it is toxic and gives off fumes that are toxic.
Don’t patch the gap, take off the whole side , cutting into the silicon with a sharp blade.
Clean off all the old silicon from the glass connected to the sides which came loose.
It does not sound right that your fish could break them loose because a tank should be stronger than that.
Maybe you should think of re-doing the whole tank, or getting a new one.Make sure the tank is matched to the stand and that there is not stress from a stand that is not supporting it properly.All tanks should have styrofoam (that squeaky stuff ) between the tank and the stand.
Large tanks have extra glass re-inforcement at the bottom , top and sides to stop bulging.
