Fish Tank 90g

How do I level my fish tank on carpet?
I have a 90g fish tank and I settled it on carpet. Now the tank is slanted because the water level on both sides of the tank have a 2cm difference. I also think it’s tilting a little forwards too. I tried solving the problem with shims but it only makes it worse. Is it ok if I just leave my tank like that, and is there an alternative way to leveling it?
Get it level. If shims are making it worse, make sure you are shimming the correct side! Also, do not shim the tank, shim the stand. You want to correct from the bottom up.
Some times it is better to get a piece of plywood and put it down first, and then put the tank and stand above it and level from there.
I have also found that moving the entire thing a foot or two along either direction will be easier to level. It usually is just a spot in the floor, perhaps an area where the carpet padding is overlapping, or where a tack board was placed. A small change in location can make all the difference.
