Fish Tank Bugs On Glass

fish tank bugs on glass
can some one tell me whats infesting my tank?

so i bought a 10 gal tank set it up and bought some guppies and everything was great until i noticed a few incredibly tiny white things moving around on the gravel. then one night the tank lights went off before i got to feed the fish so i turned it back on after it had been off maybe 30 min and the glass was absolutelyy covered with them. they are so small you can barely see them. they keep the tank perfectly clean i noticed. but i think they eat my fish because one by one they died and their body would be covered with them and sometimes i would just find their bones. so i started over with a new tank and new fish. i actually bought a new tank because i was so creeped out. well my new guppy tank is up and they are back and i cant find any info on these little *bugs so has anyone ever heard or experienced this?

It sounds a lot like a form of protazoa called ciliates ( http://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/FA041) but since I can’t see them, I’m not exactly sure if this is what you have. I had them in a fish tank once and finally gave up…one infected fish pretty much destroyed my tank, though I’m still not totally sure what fish it was since the ciliates don’t really become dangerous to the fish until they overpopulate the tank. Before treating your tank, talk to the pet store to find out if they can diagnose the problem. If this definitely isn’t it, you could always try searching “fresh water parasites” on the web.

What sucks is that they transfer from just about everything, so even a new tank won’t help if you are still using the old net(s), rocks, air filtration system, or anything else from the old tank.
