It is a jebo odyssey 30″ power compact light with 2 65 watt 50/50 bulbs and it has one fan but gets very hot is there any other fans I can buy for it?
Changing to a flourecent light is the only reasonable solution. They do not get near as hot. You do not want your tank temperature to be rising and falling by more than 4 degrees per 24 hours or you are risking severe stress from the fish. Temp is over looked so many times but it is extremely important to keep the temperature constant. Think about this, the lake water does not change temperature very quickly, if it did get cold the fish would also have refuge of same temp water at a lower depth. Fish that live in rivers can handle temp change better than fish of the tropics or marine. In the tropics it seldom ever gets below 80 degrees and ocean water (since there is so much of it) doesn’t change temp much at all. Fish are not well suited to temp fluctuations because of this. They simply have never had to adapt to rapid temp changes.
