Pond Aerator
what are some extra things that i can do to maximize my goldfish, and koi growth rates, and health?
like i have an aerator, an over sized filter, i do weekly, or every 2 weeks water changes, i feed them a varied diet of flakes, brine shrimp, and blood worms, i have a good night day cycle, i feed them 3 times a day only what they can eat in 2 minutes, a large uncrowded tank/ pond and finally i have the water temp set to{what most sites claim to be the best temp for maximized growth} 27 degrees celsius….
am i missing anything?, what else can i do for them that i have not already done?
Big tank, lots of water changes, good food and they will grow.
Nitrate buildup is a subtle thing, it decreases the fish’s appetite and slows their growth.
Be carefull about raising the temperature too much. Warm water contains less oxygen, while the warmth increases their metabolism and ooxygen needs. That can stress the fish and affect their health. I would keep the temp below 25C just to be safe.
