Is a Hydor Koralia 2 Power head / turbo pump too much for my 29 gallon biocube saltwater fish tank?
Is a Hydor Koralia 2 Powerhead / turbo pump too much for my 29 gallon biocube saltwater aquarium. The guy I go to for fish and stuff has one in his biocube and his tank is really nice. When I put mine in, though, my fish and arrow crab all pretty much went to the same place in my tank. Is it too much water current for them? I think they might be trying to get to a place of less current, but I’m not sure if they just need to get used to it, and it will be fine after a while. Please Help! Thanks!
It depends on the stock in your tank. If you have slow swimmers like clownfish or seahorses, it would probably be too much, unless it was positions to allow for more still areas. Live rock can be placed strategically around the tank to allow rest spots for the fish that need to get away. You can also face it towards the top more, or a corner, and provide less current areas that way. If it remains too strong, try a Koralia 1 or a Koralia nano.
