Reef Tank Care

What are some good saltwater fish for beginners?
I have a 20 gallon tank that I want to make saltwater, but this is my first time with saltwater fish. What is an attractive fish that is pretty hardy and easy to take care of. I also want to put in some coral and rocks and stuff so it looks like a reef. I was thinking of a puffer but I’m not sure the tank is big enough or if they can have a reef. Any other major pointers would be a major help too.
Puffers are great fish, however if your tank has not been up and running and is not over 6 months old, you cannot get a puffer yet.
Your tank needs to be up and running with or without rock. Puffers teeth never stop growing so do not be suprised if he chunks off your rock or corals. You can start with clowns or really any kind of damsel for the first fish. Forget tangs since they too need a mature tank. Your 20 gallon is fine for your puffer and on the contrary to what web pages say, puffers especially porcupine puffers can exceed 8 feet in length. There are 5 of them housed in an aquarium in Atlantic City. they won’t get that big in your tank of course. Feel free to email me and I can help you with the set up of your tank.
PATIENCE.
