Why acclimatise coral?

Im converting my FOWLR into a nano reef, im getting a melon striped mushy tomorrow and i want to know what is the point in acclimatising it if im going to freshwater dip it. I dont want to not fresh water dip and risk introducing pests. I have no quarantine tank.
Thanks
fresh water dipping is really common as a precaution against parasites or a treatment against parasites especially with zoas. I know quarantine is different from acclimatise, i meant i dont have a quarantine to put the mushy in instead of RO dipping. On a side not its surprising the number of people who just drop coral in their tank. So you recommend no dip?

Freshwater dip is crazy and i never really hear of that being done. Generally speaking corals dont bring in pest.

Acclimation is always key… from the .10 hermit crab to the 3000 dollar gem tang. You need to acclimate or you can stress out the coral soo bad it could die. Do a simple drip acclimation with an airline tubing and a small bucket.

Acclimation and quarantine are two different things so dont get them confused.

edit: i understand prevention but it seems not nessary to put hte coral under that much freshwater. True freshwater baths are just for 2-3 minutes tops, i prefer to use seachem drip when i do drip acclimations. It is a pest remover.

But if you choose to do a freshwater dip then i would still acclimate it and then add it to the aquarium. Mushrooms are fairly hardy so it should be able to handle it/
