Saltwater Fish Tank Forum

Saltwater Tank beginner help? ?
Okay, I’ve kept freshwater fish before but not saltwater. Can you please give me some helpful links for a saltwater beginner? Maybe even a forum for me to nose around in? And, could I get a 5 gallon tank and just keep like maybe 1 goby and a starfish? I would really like to keep some coral in there but it depends on the difficulty of it. I know a 5 gallon tank is small and unstable so I might NOT get this, just want to see if it’s something I can tackle or not. I would obviously do a fishless cycle and before I put the fishies in I would put some simple plants in there and if those survive and are happy I’d get a fish or two. Thanks! =]
Oh, and if you have any tips that would be helpful too!
a very good website that will give you a lot of information would be

i like them a lot.
Just some tips, saltwater fish need at least 10 gallons for free swimming and to make sure they will be happy. Bigger tanks with Sump tanks and refugiums are better for begginers because the water quality will not shift as much. smaller tanks need to be maintained more. Do research on the fish and inertabrates you want ahead of time to make sure you have proper lighting and room in your tank, and to also make sure of compatability.
