saltwater reef supplies list (40 gallon)?
im looking for a list of what i should be buying for a Reef Tank and a basic price for every item. try to keep it to a standard fish tank not some wierd all in one thing
Is the tank drilled?
you need a good protein skimmer, if the tank is not drilled get a Remora C hang on the back skimmer can be found at www.aquacave.com. Live rock 1 1/2 pounds per gallon should do nicely. Sand or crushed coral,
Do you plan to have a reef or fish only?
good quality salt,
Hydrometer to make sure salt levels are good.
a clean bucket to mix salt water in
a RODI unit ( trust me it is a much better way to go with saltwater)
some clean containers with tight lids to store extra RODI water
A good high quality heater, don’t go cheap here
watch some youtube videos from newyorksteelo ( he has some great videos on how to set up saltwater and maintain them!)
Take your time and don’t rush the setup, you’ll end up with more issues than if you take your time!
