Diy Fish Tank Background

i just need a quick answer as ti if this will mess anything up with my fish tank/ fish.?
I am going to start making a diy background for a fish tank that has fish. Im planning on making the baclground out of the tank and putting it in a rubbermaid container to take it through the process of lowering the ph. I was wondering if when i go to put the background into the tank, could i put my fish w/ a filter into another rubbermaid container for the day possible into the fallowing day just so i can do one last water change with it in the tank? thanks for anyone who can help.
Why not finish out the whole “seasoning” on the background in its own container.
Would take it that you are doing one of the “cement coated” type backgrounds by worrying about getting its pH buffering ability down… usually these are done before setting up a tank, placed, and then seasoned in the tank.Usually they are also done over styrofoam (or Great Stuff) which floats and requires attaching with silicone… and that requires curing time for the silicone also.Your looking at more than 2 days of the fish out of the tank if this is the case.
Don’t know the tank size you are working with, but in my opinion you are better off doing this to a separate tank of the same size so you can do it right and then transfering filters, fish, and equipment, when it is ready.
