Tank Water Probe
Electric water heater thermostat senses water temperature at what point.?
It would have to be either a separate probe that is on a thermowell in the tank or a sensor that reads the temperature through the tank wall. In that case it would probably be on the back of the thermostat which is attached to the tank. I plan on adapting a water heater element and thermostat to a stainless 15 gallon tank to heat water. Is this feasible? I have an electrician friend that can wire it but I need to know how the thermostat senses so I can make sure I am sensing the water temp to get a shutoff at the proper setting.
If this is an enclosed tank like a water heater then I would recommend you use a small water heater,they make several sizes and configurations. There are more safety issues to consider and liabilities. You are dealing with electricity, water, pressure relief. If this is an open tank, serious burns if guards are not sufficiant.
