Tropical Fish Tanks Sale
What else can go in my tank? (turtles, crabs, etc.)?
I have a large 350 litre (about 90 US Gallons) tank with a mixture of fish. I was wondering what other interesting things I could safely put in there with the fish. A local shop had a freshwater turtle for sale who stayed under the water and lived happily with the fish. Unfortuantly by the time I had the savings the told me it is illegal for them to sell the turtles now?
Are there any other types of turtle of any thing else (I’ve heard rumours of crabs and frogs) I could get. It is a tropical tank with plecos, gouramis and tin foil barbs. Some of the fish are quite big (18inch pleco, 10inch barbs) so small things wouldnt be wise.
Any ideas?
You really shouldn’t keep turtles in tanks with fish. Turtles are very, very dirty and would foul the water beyond what fish could tolerate. Many turtles also eat fish!
With the fish you’ve named, you might not have room for more tank mates. The tinfoil barbs aren’t done growing and you should have at least 6 as they’re schooling fish.
