Aqua Clear 500 power filter or Penguin Bio-wheel 350?
Which one is better for a…i think its a 80gallon tank…..not sure
Any other suggestion on Power filters that would do the job?
CANISTER FILTERS are a bit to pricey for me so dont go there……..unless you have experance with them i would like to hear about them….

Actually for not much more you could get the Marineland emperor 400. I think they are about $55.00 US at Dr. Foster and Smiths online. the cartridges and basket are considerably larger…and the biowheels are run by a spray bar instead of water flow… the only maintenece for the biowheels are cleaning the tips, it is a proven fact that the biowheels are more efficient than sponges or in water bio bags because the wheels are able to use atmospheric oxygen instead of the oxygen suspended in the water..which competes with your fish for oxygen. The bio bags and sponges become clogged and the water bypasses them…and you usually don’t know until you have an ammonia spike.
Of course you would do better with a large canister filter, and you may want to add that later…but I always use biowheels even with canisters…as this improves biological filtration.
