Whisper Fish Tank Filter

Will my filter suck up fish fry?

I have a 30 gal. aquarium. I’m going to put in a bunch of mixed livebarers. I assume over time they will have babies. I’m not going to make a nursery tank, but let them take their chances in the tank with adult fish.
MY QUESTION: I have a tetra brand whisper in-tank filter made for tanks up to 40 gal. Will it suck up all the baby fish? If yes, what is a better filter?

Yes filter will suck your fry. To avoid this you should use a sponge filter or use a mesh or something to cover up the filter intake like i did in my fry tank http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SC85nVjYXSY&feature=fvsr

P/S: Its going to be tough luck to find fry alive in a tank with lots of adults unless you have LOTS of plants: both planted plants and floating plants. It’s really going to be tough on the little guys because they will not be able to handle the large flakes or whatever you feed the adults. I’m not saying it’s impossible, but it will be basically survival of the fittest.
